Baby Clothes

"I've been looking at baby clothes again. Gender neutral ones, so I can go ahead and start buying. I found some organic cowboy clothes....But the neutral stuff isn't as cute as the little boy and girl stuff. I really need to know WHAT IT"S GOING TO BE! We put people on the freaking moon, why the hell can't they just tell you what it is!" ~Jensi

I will have to agree with Jensi, we put people on the moon and sent a robot to Mars, why does it take so long to tell the sex of the baby? The earliest we will find out is mid-March and the most likely time is more towards the end of March or even early April. I'm not sure if I can wait that long. It just seems SO long away. I want to pick out bedding and stuff for the babies room. I have decided to paint the room a shade of green, that way it goes great with either blue or pink. I took two frames out of my shop to place somewhere in the room. They have fabulous quotes on them.

"My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep; the more I give to thee, the more I have, for both are infinite." ~William Shakespeare
"If I never met you, I wouldn't like you, If I didn't like you, I wouldn't love you. If I didn't love you, I wouldn't miss you. But I did, I do, and I will." ~Unknown

Our First Peek at Sprinkle

Introducing Sprinkle...
Most people call their baby "Peanut" because that is what it looks like the first time they see it. Well, i had an early ultrasound. 5 weeks and 5 days to be exact, and my baby is the size of a sprinkle on a cupcake, so I'm going to call it Sprinkle.
If you look at the ultrasound picture, the dark, pear shaped area is my uterus, the marble looking thing inside it is the yolk sac and the tiny thing between the 2 white "x"s is the baby.
I realize that you don't see much, but I do!
(You can click on the image to enlarge it)
So, where do we go from here?
I have another ultrasound next Wednesday. The baby should grow 1-2mm a day, we should be able to see the heart beat and get a good heart rate, and we should also see it flutter around in there. I can't wait!

Dixie has some news to share at her house!

Ok, so Dixie is going to be a BIG Sister! Isn't her "I'm the Big Sister" t-shirt cute? Yes, it is official, I'm pregnant. Due August 26th of 2009. I am 5 weeks, 5 days into it. I had my first bout with morning sickness today, I think it has to do with the horse pill vitamins I have to take. I am tired all the time and JD said today that he finally thinks my boobs are getting bigger. I haven't gained any weight yet. So, want to know some info on the baby?
The baby is the size of a sprinkle on a cupcake, looks like a tadpole, complete with tail and all.
It's microscopic heart starts beating this week, even though we won't be able to hear it for a few more weeks.
I will get my first view of the baby tomorrow morning at my first ultrasound! I'm sure they will print out a picture for me and I will post it for all to see. (even though you won't be able to see much)

Trees, Trees, Trees

Gail Pittman Tree in the Kitchen. It has mom's old gail pittman ornaments, my new 12 days of christmas ornaments, and copper cookie cutters on it! How fun!
This is our Family tree in the den. Full of color, fun & Family ornaments!

More Christmas Paintings

This one is for Thad. The golf landscape turned out pretty good I thought.

Daniel's is of a black lab, they are harder to paint than you think, so I just got really creative.

At least Allyson will like it!
(it is still wet in the pic)

SEC Championship Game

Riding up to the nose bleed section to watch the Crimson Tide Play. Unfortunately, we didn't win, but we had a great time in Atlanta.

12-0 Perfection!

Roll Tide Roll!
Here are the only pictures I took this past weekend at the Alabama/Auburn game!
It was a blast! We got to hang out in the quad with friends (Samantha pictured above),
enjoy every bit of the "Beat down in T-Town" game against Auburn, and even make it to Birmingham to spend the night with friends (Sam & Paul)
Now we are preparing to head to Atlanta for the SEC Championship game against Florida!
I wonder if they will have fried gator in the Georgia Dome?

Christmas gifts

So instead of buying art for my brothers, i decided to paint something for them instead. What do you think of Brooks' painting of "Frank"? I think he'll like it. I painted Thad's dog Loki but I don't like it yet, so i'm going to keep working on it. One down, umteen to go...

Dixie's Friend Pippa

The other night we were at our friend Ben's house trying to figure out where to go to dinner. Ellie & Pippa were playing in another room when Pippa came to give me a kiss and be on her merry way. Isn't she the sweetest!

working and decorating...

This doesn't have much to do with Dixie's House, except keep me from it. Work!

Here is the Bridal Registry at Interior Marketplace that I have been working on for a while now. I personally think it looks great, but of course, I worked so much on it I have to think that from going crazy!

Halloween @ Dixie's

Halloween @ Dixie's House was so much fun! We carved some AWESOME pumpkins and Dixie barked at all of the kids dressed up trick-or-treating! Obviously things have been quite busy around our house and that is why I'm just now putting up pictures from Halloween. I promise to do more and keep up with this! (Sidenote- these pictures were taken by my iphone so the quality isn't the best, but I have found that taking the picture and emailing it to myself works so much better than any other process!)

Roll Tide Roll

We have never been more proud to fly our Alabama flag outside the house. The Crimson Tide dominated the first half of a "blackout" game against the Georgia Bulldogs, and held their own during the second half. Roll Tide!

Dixie's Chair

Just in case you wanted to know what Dixie does all day long...
