(Warning: Long post and random rambles)
I have a lot to post about this Christmas and I am so far behind that this will be a long post!
We started out our Christmas celebrating with David's friend Brady! We had breakfast, opened gifts and took pictures of the boys in their matching hats! Brady wasn't as into his hat as David was!
Brady is David's #1 source for hand-me-downs, and we got to borrow Brady's exersaucer! Once we got it home, we stuck David in it to see how he liked it, and boy did he LOVE it!
David is now eating lots of real food. He LOVES carrots, sweet peas, green beans, squash, apples, pears, and bananas. He loves sweet potatoes too, but they don't' love him. They give him really bad gas, so we are waiting to give him more of them later on. He is so cute in this highchair! He loves to talk while eating and you can't feed him fast enough!
So I worked the Rocket City Marathon for my friend Jamie who was the finish line volunteer coordinator. It was really cold, but I had a blast and It was so awesome seeing everyone cross the finish line! I was quite inspired, so I decided to start running with the goal in mind to complete a half marathon in a few months. I ran the Monday and Tuesday after being inspired and did well. The Huntsville Rudolph Run 5k was that Saturday and I decided that I could do it. I had already run almost 3 miles on Tuesday so I was determined I could finish. Well, I got 3/4 of a mile into it and my knee was killing me. I had Jamie run on ahead and I walked the rest of the race and finished the 3.2 miles in a lot of pain!
Me and Jamie after the run
I went to the doctor first thing Monday morning, they did xrays and didn't see anything so I had an MRI that night. (apparently imaging places stay open really late) I went back to the doctor on Tuesday and he told me I had a stress fracture in my left leg right below the knee. I have to wear a knee brace for the next 6 weeks and I also have crutches for getting around. I can still walk around the house and carry David, I just hobble around and it is pretty painful. Hopefully it will heal up soon and I can get back to running!
Right before we left for Meridian, my friend Sally and her precious little girl Maggie came over to see David. Maggie was so cute with him and really wanted to sit in the chair and "hold Baby Dabid" He didn't mind, so we took pictures and talked about Christmas!
How cute are they??
Santa came to our house a little early, and David was extremely blessed. He got lots of fun toys and clothes!
We packed up and headed to Meridian to celebrate Christmas at my parents house.
I think YaYa was excited to see David and David was excited to see YaYa, what do you think?
We had a wonderful Christmas Eve with my brothers and Christmas Morning. Here are some pictures below:
The above pictures are what happens when 7 children, 1 grandchild and 4 granddogs get together. It is also the results of me slacking and not taking David to have his picture taken with Santa...therefore Uncle D dressed up as Santa on Christmas Day and David had his first picture taken with him..unfortunately, Uncle D is already trying to teach David bad things! But that is ok, David can teach his New Baby Cousin "Baby Buck" (Daniel and Allyson are due July 7th!!!) all the bad things that his Uncles have taught him!!
I didn't get my camera out again on Christmas Day. We traveled to Birmingham for lunch with JD's family then home to Huntsville for Christmas with JD's parents. It was a long day and difficult to get everything done with a baby and a broken leg.
So as I sit here on my den floor, here is what is next: David is going to visit with his YaYa and Grandy in Meridian next week while JD and I head to California for the National Championship game! We are so excited about our trip and ready for our first trip away from David. I just hope he will be good for my family in Meridian!
