It's A Boy!!

After a week of not too much excitement, We finally got the news we were waiting to hear! It's a Boy!! We went to the doctor this morning at 8:30 and we did an ultrasound (only because we are close with our doctor and she wanted to know just as bad as we did)

The baby was sitting indian style and we couldn't really tell at first. We got to see its perfectly shaped head, its spine, two arms, two hands, two legs, two feet and.....a penis!!!

We had to move him around some with me pushing on my belly to get him to roll around and when we did, we got the perfect gender shot! Therefore,
John David Reed, jr. (David)
will be here in August!

After finding out, I just had to get David something, so we went to Itty Bitty and got this cute converter gown in NB size. It has space shuttles on it and is perfect for a baby that will be born in the "Rocket City" of Huntsville, and who's "Pop" worked in the space industry for over 30 years! I can't wait to see him in it!

And just so you don't think we have already forgotten our other baby, it was a nice warm day outside yesterday, so Dixie and I went out and threw her bird. What a pretty dog!

Trip to Meridian

I went home to Meridian this past weekend to see my Mom & Dad and spend some time with them. The last time I was in Meridian was Christmas and we were only there for 2 days, so I wanted to go back and get to spend some time with the both of them.
I left Thursday morning and got there around lunch time, so Mom and I went to Cater's to see Ms. Kim and eat lunch with Allyson. That night I had dinner with Mom & Dad, Brooks, Daniel & Allyson. It was really fun and nice to get together. The sad thing about that night was the day before, Frank, Brooks' pug had fallen off the bed and broken his leg, so poor Frank has a cast from his hip down and has to keep it on for 2 weeks. He was so sad.

That same day, Mom and I went to Belk to take advantage of the Clinique free gift time and after stocking up on make-up and face cleansers, we walked through the baby section, just to look and found the Christmas Clearance rack, with an extra 30% off the lowest price marked. Mom bought Sprinkle the red onesie that says "Who needs Santa when I have Grandma." I loved it! The other red onesie says "Baby's First Christmas" and the longsleeve pj outfit says "Santa's Helper." Aren't the footie reindeer the cutest!! The best part, they were $2.97 each!

On Friday, Mom and I drove to Florence to see my Great-Aunt Kay. As soon as we got there, it started pouring down rain, but I got back in the car to head to the High School were I taught 2 years ago. The first smiling face I saw was the beautiful Margo! She was a sophomore in my Art I class back then, and now she is a Senior about to graduate and go off to Southern Miss!
Wow do I miss this girl!! She took me all around the school to see the office staff, the staff in the career center (where I spent many off periods) and teachers that I was friends with. It was great to go back and visit, and it did make me miss it!
(Margo and I)
After I left the school, I went back to my cousin Kelly's house to eat lunch with my mom and Kay and little Sam! He was so small when I was teaching in Florence and I would leave school and drop by and see him every afternoon. I would draw or play ball with him and his brothers Kyle and Blake almost every day! It amazes me how much he has grown in the last year and a half, and now he talks 90 to nothing about everything. He showed me everything in his house, all his toys and even all of his Valentine candy!! He is quite the handful already! Good luck Kay & Kelly with this one!
Mom and I returned home to hang out with Dad, hang pictures and work on the new sun room they added on to the house. I really enjoyed spending time with both my Mom & Dad. There haven't been too many occasions where I have gotten to spend time with just them. There is usually another brother around or holiday activities to partake in. I also need to soak up as much time with them now as I can. I'm sure when Sprinkle arrivies, it will be a whole different story. I will go to Meridian, they will want me to hand over the baby and disappear! I can't wait to share their first grandchild with them in August!!
Now, everything is back to work for the next week. I have several ads due soon for Interior Marketplace and I also have a photoshoot tomorrow with Maggie, and I need to work on finishing up some other photoshoots.

Bishop's Swim Meet

Two weekends ago, Lindsay & Bishop Johnson came and spent the night with us because Bishop had a swim meet in Huntsville that Sunday. Right after they got there, we went to Little Paul's BBQ for dinner and watched Dirty Jobs and went to bed. We were up early and at the Huntsville indoor swimming pool for warm-ups. I can't tell you how much this whole experience made me miss swimming. The smell of the pool, the masses of kids walking around in swimsuits with swim caps and goggles in hand, waiting their turn to hit the water brought back all kinds of memories. I tell you one thing has really changed though, the boys no longer wear speedos! They were these tight swim shorts-like biker shorts.
Bishop swam in 3 individual events and 1 relay. He cut his time in all 3 events, the 100 yd. Free, 50 Back & 50 Breast. Way to go bud!
Bishop and I outside, waiting for the meet to start.
(It is hard to believe that I started babysitting him and his brother & sister when they were 2)
Doing what he does best, backstroke!

Trying not to laugh at me for cheering him on and telling him to finish hard!!

Silly Picture

I found this great Photography Blog and this is my first entry. The Theme for this week is Silly.
I took this picture of a little boy named Kai last spring and I loved it! I think it really shows how "silly" little boys can be. You can check out other winners on their website from previous weeks and even see the categories for the upcoming weeks. What a great project for me to start!

Saturday Breakfast & Brady!

Saturday morning, I met Lindsay and Brady for Breakfast at The Broken Egg. I haven't seen Brady in a while and he has gotten SO big! We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast of waffles and bacon while Lindsay had oatmeal and bacon! Here are a few pictures of this chunky monkey!

Brady was born in late August, around the time our baby is due! I can't believe that this time next year, I will have a baby this age!

Friday Fondue

On Friday night, we got together with our friends Ben & Jamie for a fun evening of Fondue! We started out with a Mexican Cheese Fondue dipping chips and apples into it. We then moved on to a very unique broth that I made cooking chicken and shrimp in it. For desert, we had chocolate fondue with marshmallows, strawberries and bananas. It was a great relaxing dinner after a day of being really tired and not feeling all that great. My blood pressure dropped again Friday night while I was peeling shrimp and I indulged in a Coke for dinner!

Big Weekend...

My weekend started out with cleaning and more cleaning. I have cleaned out closets and furniture and moved things around like crazy. I worked hard in the dining room to prepare for the new hutch to come and I worked hard in the baby's room, cleaning out the closet and getting the bed taken down and ready for the twin day bed to come in. I also worked in the garage when the weather was nice, throwing away a lot of stuff and getting rid of boxes, etc.

On Saturday, We had our new sofa delivered, we then took our old sofa to Jensi's house and delivered it there. We picked up my new hutch at Interior Marketplace and thanks to Ben Wilson, got it into the house and in place. We took the full size bed and mattress to Nana & Pops to store and returned home to nap and continue to work.
Below are pictures of our progress...

New Hutch full of dishes & silver

Blurry image of the dresser in the baby's room. Not sure about the mirror or lamps, just needed a place to put them.

The day bed in the baby's room with the "princess" claiming her bed!

Dixie was reminding me this was her princess bed before and she wasn't ready to give it up. She never sits still for a picture, but when I was taking pictures in the baby's room, she started posing. She thinks she needs her own room too!
