6 Months Old!

I can't believe my baby is 6 months old!

Yesterday we celebrated David's half birthday. It really only seems like yesterday that I was in the hospital having him, now I can't imagine life without him! He greets me with a beautiful smile in the morning and the smiles don't stop. He is (for the most part) a very happy kid. His smile and laugh melt my heart. I could listen to my baby laugh all day long. We have also noticed him getting another dimple oh his other cheek. Too cute!

Here is an update on his stats. He used to sleep through the night. Not anymore. He wakes up at least twice during the night. Not necessarily hungry, just fusses. (not sure if it has a lot to do with it, but I took away the nap nanny so he would do better on rolling over) It makes for a tired mommy! He continues to get better and better at his walker. He took a tour around the kitchen today while I was painting. He lights up when JD or I walk into a room. He gets so excited when he sees his daddy! He also loves Dixie. He will stare at her for hours if she would stay around him long enough. He is eating more food and different foods. Still spitting up a lot. He is wearing 9 month clothes and growing out of them quickly! He is also getting more and more hair.

Enjoy the pictures below. I also included the slide show of all the pictures.

This boy LOVES his dog!

Caught red "footed"
Yes, this boy has his foot in his mouth!

As you can see from the video, David loves his new walker and his dog! He gets so excited when Dixie is around. He talks to her all the time and gets mad when she doesn't want anything to do with him. I can't believe my baby will be 6 months old on Sunday!

The Walker!

We have a new toy! When David was in his walker, he always looked like he was trying to get to us, so we went out to buy him a walker, and while in the store, our friend April called and she offered up Abby's walker to David, so that afternoon I went and got it.
David LOVES the walker. He hasn't gotten the going forward thing yet, but he will go backwards! Take a look at these pictures! He LOVES this thing!

And here is a random picture from lunch one day last week. All of my loves in one chair, all looking at me!

Dinner with The Penney's

On Friday night, we had dinner over at the Penney's house.

The food was so good. I took a salad and a cake and Chris made Chicken Spaghetti. Here are some pictures from the night!

Crazy Weather...Extremely Lucky

Thursday night, some really bad weather went through Huntsville. JD had just gotten home and I offered to go to 5 points to get something at Star Market to cook for dinner and he just wanted to go out, so we went back to the bedroom to change clothes. I heard the rain getting harder and harder, then I started hearing hail on the skylight in our hall bathroom so we turned on the tv. The tornado sirens started going off, the TV station camera on top of the Rocket was pointed towards downtown and there was a very obvious wall cloud with a funnel coming down. We saw a power flash on the tv where the storm was and we knew the storm was right around our neighborhood. JD told me to take David into the bathroom and right then the power went off. We sat in the bathroom on our cell phones trying to get weather updates and stayed until they said it was over the mountain. We got in the car and drove to JD's parents house because they had power and we didn't. Once we got there and watched the news, we reazlied the severity of the storm. We went home a few hours later and after being home for 10 minutes, the power came back on. Below is a picture someone in Huntsville took while on their way home.
On Friday, JD and I drove through the 5 points area that was hit the hardest. There were huge old trees down everywhere. We drove right by this yellow house and noticed the lady on the front porch. It was JD's hygenist, Karin. She had just gotten home and managed to get a few steps down into her cellar/basement when the storm hit and this huge tree in her front yard fell on her house. We went inside and saw the damage. It was crazy. We are so thankful she is ok. The tree shifted the entire front end of her house so they wouldn't let her stay there but insurance came and is already helping her out. They even had the tree removed and out of there by the end of the day on Friday. It cost $14,000 to remove that big of a tree that was uprooted. CRAZY!
Thankfully no one was seriously injured in the storm, and extremely thankful that it didnt' hit our neighborhood which is less than 1/2 mile from our house!

6 month checkup

David went to his 6 month checkup today. It was a little early but we have to take an appointment when we can get it! He did great! He weighs 16lbs 14 oz, which is in the 44th percentile. His height was in 52nd percentile and his head was in the 60th percentile! Very average and right on track to be just like his daddy! He got 2 vaccination shots and one oral vaccination. He also got the flu shot and the H1N1 shot today too! He was such a good boy and barely cried. He has been a little extra fussy this afternoon so I'm off to feed him one last bottle and put him to bed. I promise pictures tomorrow.

David's Baptism

This past Sunday, we had David Baptised at our church, First United Methodist Huntsville. It was a beautiful service and David did so well. He went to the preacher no problem, let them sprinkle his head and bless him, then he let the preacher walk him around the sanctuary and introduce him to the other members of the church. David was wide awake and just looked around. He was so cute. He wore My gown that my mom made for my baptism 26 years ago. After the service we went to JD's parents house for a Wonderful lunch. Special thanks to my family that came all the way to Huntsville for such a special day!

On Friday, after the game, we did an express tour of LA and surrounding areas. We started out at the Griffith Observatory that overlooked LA and was close to the Hollywood sign.

From California

We then headed into Hollywood and to the Chinese Theatre. JD found Tom Hanks' hands and feet. How fitting?

I found two stars that I had to have my pic taken with. First and foremost...Elton John!!!

Then Olivia Newton-John

Across the street, we went to the Disney Store where I got David a 70th Anniversary Dumbo Elephant (also a National Championship Elephant!!)

Then, just like most other Alabama fans, we found the closest In-n-out burger (prob. the same one as Rebecca!)

We drove through Beverly Hills then headed to Venice Beach. Enjoy the pictures below.

After a long day of riding in the car, we enjoyed dinner at LA Prime and went to bed. We flew home the next day and it literally took all day to get home.

National Championship Game!!

JD and I flew to California the Wednesday before the game. It took all day to travel from Huntsville through Detroit to LA. Stephen and Liz got the rental car and picked us up and we headed to the Westin Bonnaventure. We ate at a "fancy" Mexican restaurant called Ciudad, then went to bed. We woke up, had breakfast at the hotel, met up with Lauten and his dad and headed to Pasadena to tailgate before the game. We parked in lot D right next to the stadium (thanks to my handy dandy handicap parking pass for my leg). We went over to lot 1A and met up with some dental buddies from Huntsville and hung out, then we decided to head all the way around the stadium to take pictures with the front of the Rose Bowl. We entered the stadium a little over an hour before the game started and stayed about an hour after the game ended (letting most of the crowd leave). Enjoy the pictures from the game...

David's trip to Meridian...while Mom & Dad went to California

While JD and I were off to California for the National Championship game, David spent his time in Meridian hanging out with my family. Here are a few pictures that were sent to me via iPhone. Couldn't you just eat him up?
